Today we are honored to share an important message from Dr. Peter Adamson, Chair of the Children's Oncology Group, which includes 7,500 experts across 200 worldwide institutions and treats 90% of cancer kids in the US.
Dr. Adamson announces the creation of The Children's Oncology Group Foundation! The COG Foundation will receive and direct funds from supporters to bring support to the most promising research and treatments for childhood cancer. Dr. Adamson's letter is below and the press release can be viewed here: Children’s Oncology Group Builds a Foundation for the Future.
Please share your comments and thoughts below, which we hope to share with Dr. Adamson at the September 22, 1011 PAC2 Workshop.
CureSearch for Children's Cancer continues to fund clinical trials conducted by Children's Oncology Group member hospitals, and will o do so in the future. CureSearch also continues to manage the COG's Operations and Statistics and Data Centers in CA. Last week, CureSearch announced that in addition to its $5.5 million commitment to the COG this year (announced in August), it will also fund children's cancer research outside the scope of the COG.

CureSearch remains as it is now - a national organization with regional fundraising offices committed to raising funds for children's cancer research. The CureSearch Walks will continue to support enrollments in COG clinical trials at COG member hospitals and CureSearch has the opportunity to fund research and educational/informational resources inside and outside of the COG.
