I wanted to start a discussion on the topic of family support to the families of children diagnosed  with cancer. Having been through the heart aches of having a child that has cancer and knowing what we went through when we were seeking somewhere to get help with the expenses associated with trying to get a sick child well made us realize that we needed to take action. After we lost Brad on June 20, 2010 we formed The Brad Coleman Cancer Foundation in his honor. We provide funding for travel and lodging expenses to these families. It also amazes me how a certain few big organization are not willing to help any of these families. We have had numinous families referred to us by them. I know that most of the money that they raise goes towards research but what we have to remember that all the new treatments in the world will not benefit these kids if they cant get to the facilities to get the treatments. I also realize that it costs allot of money to run these organizations. I am proud of the fact that 100% of all money that we raise goes to supporting these families. We have no paid employees everyone here volunteers their time to the cause. We currently have 14 families that we are helping on a monthly basis. My question to everyone is what percentage of donations do you think goes toward family support of children with cancer if any. I don’t know of any other organizations that are doing what we do.
