Hi PAC2,

we are inching closer and closer to September (National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) and we can unequivocally say that the childhood cancer community is collaborating and working long hours on plans to bring more awareness of the problems faced by our kids and community this September.   In front of sharing some of those plans and other exciting news with you, tonight we feature the human and the concrete....

#1 - The Story Room

The Story Room is a PAC2 tradition that has been sidetracked too long. The Story Room is a place to share your story, your child's story, your thoughts and feelings - there are no rules in The Story Room. Please share whatever you want to share.  One PAC2 member's story is posted on Monday evening by the member telling his/her story, and the rest of us can read and reply. The person "hosting" each week will stick around a bit to read and reply to your comments.

Tonight we are honored to have Melina Brown, a member of the St. Baldrick's team 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave, share Levi's story and her thoughts about her "old life". Log in and post your thoughts and comments on PAC2. Our thanks go to Melina for posting and re-starting The Story Room!  Click here to read Levi's story.

If you would like to volunteer to share your story, please contact us at thestoryroom@peopleagainstchildhoodcancer.org - everyone is welcome.

#2 - Childhood Cancer Organization Directory

In March 2011 the first PAC2 Workshop brought together over 30 childhood cancer organizations to develop ways to collaborate and speed the search for the cure to childhood cancer.  Four projects were selected for development and today we are excited to announce the kick-off of the Childhood Cancer Organization Directory.  The Directory will ultimately be a national, comprehensive and searchable list of all childhood cancer organizations who participate – providing the community an important resource for families, patients and advocates.

The first phase is data collection: we welcome all childhood cancer organizations to provide information on their foundation by visiting http://www.peopleagainstchildhoodcancer.org/page/childhood-cancer-d....   Once we have collected a representative group of organizations; we will proceed with creation and publication of the directory on the PAC2 website for use by the entire childhood cancer community.

Please share the link http://www.peopleagainstchildhoodcancer.org/page/childhood-cancer-d... with your favorite childhood cancer groups; and if you represent an organization, we gratefully appreciate you sharing your information with us!

Thanks to all PAC2 members for all you do!
