As you may know, CureSearch rep's will be in Wash. DC in Feb to meet with members of Congress. The Team Leader for TN has asked if TN PAC2 members would like to share their story with their reps. The message below is from Jennifer Louis, and asks for your help. Please consider the power behind your story....and tell it.
As a volunteer team leader from TN for CureSearch, I will be going to D.C. on February 2 to speak with members of Congress from TN and I am hoping to bring personal stories/photos from families throughout TN, as elected officials always respond positively when they hear directly from their constituents.
If you live in TN and would like to help me advocate for increased funding for research, please email me a one page document that includes: a) your personal story and why you support increased funds for research, b) a photo of your child/family, and c) your full mailing address and zip code (so I can be sure each Congressman sees stories from his/her own district). Thanks! Jennifer Louis (firstname.lastname@example.org)
I'm not in TN but just a suggestion to get more stories: We always shared our story and had it collected by the social worker at our cancer clinic (Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA) while Nina was in treatment. Our Cure Search reps took stacks of stories with them to DC. Have you considered asking at all the pediatric cancer treatment places in TN?
