Incidence of Childhood Cancer
The incidence of childhood cancer has increased an average of a 0.6% per year from 1975 to 2010, from 12.5 to 16.8 cases per 100,000 population. This represents about a 35% increase in the number of children diagnosed over that period.
In 2014 is it expected that overall, 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer before age 20.
