Awareness & Advocacy

Advocacy and Awareness

Sharing your message to inform and change minds.   We've written on why awareness is needed in "Childhood Cancer: Another Inconvenient Truth".  Our contention is that awareness will lead to increased funding as others understand childhood cancer and the complexities and horror associated with it.  Increased funding will lead to more research and finding a cure faster.

Right now, December 2011, the Creating Hope Act is a major piece of legislation that needs your support and your representatives support.  Please read more here and take action: Help Kids v Cancer and Please support the Creating Hope Act

Another key piece of legislation was introduced on September 22, 2011 by Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and Representatives Jackie Speier (D-CA) and Michael McCaul (R-TX).  Read more on Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy's page: Survivorship: the Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Survivorship Research and Quality of Life Act (S.1613/H.R.3015).

One thing we generally attempt to do in a focused, unified effort is to lobby the government to support childhood cancer.  Join and follow the following Advocacy Organizations to stay informed and participate.

Keeping track of what is going on is important.  PAC2 updates Legislative News on a regular basis.

Whether you want to read about awareness efforts or share your views; do both in Awareness Talk.
