After the loss of Sammy my family and I have made it a life goal to help with the rare childhood cancers that funding is almost nonexistent. Sammy lost his battle after a short time of only 20 days to Rhabdoid.

8 year old Tyler tucker
please pray for Tyler
Well, we got a call from Dr. Rodriguez’s office today to confirm that Tyler’s surgery is set up for August 10th.
EVERYTHING IS APPROVED FOR THE HOSPITAL AND DOCTOR
I am a little worried about him, but I know God will be with us all the way. Tyler’s new jaw is waiting for him. We have to be there at six in the morning. We will leave home a little early, just encase we need a little extra time. It’s a long way to Maryland from Greenville. I still have all the money that was donated for Tyler’s trip. Thank you all that helped. Also thank God that all this is arranged.
Now we need to keep storming heaven for TyTy. We don’t know how long we will be there, so please keep our family in your prayers. It will be a while I’m sure. As soon as I find out, I will let you all know what room Tyler will be in.
THIS IS STRESSFUL, EMOTIONALLY, FINANCIALLY

Cat, Can you post the St. Baldrick's event in the Midwest group in the events forum? I would also suggest emailing a reminder/announcement/invite to all group members since we have so many in the KC area.
How did the Christmas benefit go? I'm so sorry we weren't able to make it. The kiddoes were pooped after the CMH party that day. I hope it was a huge success and raised tons of money for rare childhood cancers! You're doing GREAT things!
Also, are you planning to go to D.C. in February? I am still contemplating due to lack of finances (this economy sucks!). If you want to get together sometime in early January to strategize KC ALS media efforts, let me know. I'm off work until Jan. 12.
Oh my please forgive me I just noticed the RSVP. Also I checked out Sammy's page. What a precious story, your family is amazing and inspirational. I wanted to add that my little Cooper was also born on April 2. Sammy does have a way of making his connections from above doesn't he! =) So glad you found us!
I just visited your precious Sammy's page. What a beautiful, happy baby! It is amazing how strong children can be. Our son Christian went to heaven after a 20 month BRUTAL journey. You may read about him on his website www.caringbridge.org/visit/christianbarker or on my page on PAC2.
Cancer is so horrible and I am happy you are here to help us find a cure for our courageous kids.
Good luck with the costume casino night. What do I need to do to register? We'd love to come!
The train ride yesterday was WONDERFUL. We had 243 people ride the train (the train holds 250) -- it was wonderful! Next year we're going to do multiple trains on Sept. 13 because I think with more planning we can get even more people there. We'd love to see you and your family next year. Judi gave a speech and did a wonderful job. It really was a great way to honor children's battles and celebrate CCA month/day.
Here are the links to the stories about the event in case you're interested. The publicity was also great to raise awareness about childhood cancer:
