I'm a 24 year old single mother to my son Andrew. Andrew just turned 3 in August. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 11 months old. A partial resection a few months before his second birthday showed it to be a grade II Astrocytoma. His tumor has been stable since his surgery in May '07. With the amount of tumor remaining and pathology his doctors say it's not a matter of if he will recurr it's when and at that point we'll begin looking at chemo. But his outlook is good albiet scary. But Andrew is strong, he's my brave little warrior. So for now we plan and scan and live each day to the fullest.
Did you hear that Dr. Jacobsen is leaving Rainbow? We were at survivor clinic last Wednesday and he told us that at end of December/beginning of January he'll be leaving to take a position at a hospital in Charleston, NC.....I was shocked and saddened as we've been with him from the beginning (2000). I know there's a positive in here somewhere--I just haven't found it yet.
