Helping to find a cure brain tumors or any cancer!

My 18 year old son, now 20, had a brain tumor. We had to withdraw him from UNC Chapel Hill from his freshman year of college. He underwent 4 week long sessions of chemotherapy and then we spent 2 months in Houston Texas where he received Proton Radiation. Fortunately, right now, he is tumor free. He has MRI's every three months on his brain and spine to check for recurrence. We take a deep breath, pray, and then breathe again when the results are clear. Two years have passed now and we are still clean! Thanks God, you are an awesome God.

Stay Strong

This song was written by my brother in law when my son was diagnosed with his brain tumor. At the time it was more individualized with his name and some things that were more pertaining to him. However, because it seemed like so many could relate to the idea of needing to stay strong, it was rewritten as a more general song and I hope you will listen and enjoy.
My son is now a 20 year old Junior at UNC Chapel Hill and plays baseball for the Carolina Tar Heels.
Go Heels,

Hi everyone,

As you know, I'm a supporter of Friends of Jaclyn and as you can imagine nonprofits and schools are facing a fundraising crisis this year. Chase is in involved in this foundation through the UNC baseball team. Check out his blog to find out more.

The good news is that more than 700 of the top Internet retailers and… Continue

Chase and I had the opportunity to join in the effort to help raise money for the PBTF with the Raleigh radio staion G105 yesterday, Black Friday. We met all the people that are involved with the foundation including the founder Mike Traynor. What a neat guy and what a wonderful foundation. I can't say enough about what a great thing they do for helping to… Continue

My son is now a part of this by way of the UNC Baseball team. Their outreach program this year is adopting a child by way of this foundation. It is unique program and very worthwhile.… Continue

Good morning, Judith. Found your page through the bt warriors group here on PAC2. Just wanted to stop by and say "hello" and extend my welcome. Your son is quite an inspiration, and I'm so thrilled to read that he's enjoying a tumor-free life!!!! You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Judith,

I am happy for your son's NED status, and welcome to PAC2. We are a community of parents, friends, survivors, medical professionals, childhood cancer organizations (CureSearch, Alex's Lemonade Stand, St. Baldrick's, Make-A-Wish and others) and concerned citizens, all with the same goal - eradicate Childhood Cancer.

My first initiative was the Childhood Cancer Awareness Petition. The Petition was started before Stand Up 2 Cancer, and now has over 16,000 signatures with the objective to have a major TV network produce a show solely on Childhood Cancer. To be childhood cancer's "Inconvenient Truth" moment.

The format is unique. You can have friends, post photos and videos, blog, participate in Forum discussions, start Groups about your interest, chat live with other members, promote fundraisers or join a Group that is focused on your interests in childhood cancer. It's interactive and will continue to evolve.

While all those features are nice, it still takes ACTION. This is truly the reason PAC2 started. Each day or so, we feature ideas for members in the middle section of the home page. This is where you can help by taking action. You can get started with the new member ideas here.

I look forward to your contributions and ideas, and working together in the future. Thanks again for being here, I am sorry you have to be............AJs Dad
