I posted this before thinking really, didnt know it would cause such a "thats right" nod from the crowd, and now I am a bit worried about this blog post actually being on the site. Does it belong here? The word that became the main topic, well thats my fault, makes me blush. But it's a valid sentiment, is it not? Just this is CHILDRENS cancer, not big persons cancer. So i'm a bit worried. Don't read past this if your parents are not here. Please. Or if big bad words scare you are make you… Continue

Experiments Could Lead To New Treatments For Neuroblastoma

ScienceDaily (Aug. 15, 2008) — Neuroblastoma is one of the most devastating diagnoses a child can receive. The cancer's victims average 2 years old when the disease is detected, most often by a parent feeling a lump in a child's abdomen. By then, the disease has often reached an advanced stage, and advanced neuroblastoma kills more than 50 percent of the children in whom it develops, despite aggressive treatment with surgery,… Continue

I have been inspired by AJ's dad, and am considering several things localy for Cancer Awareness month

Mimi and I are going to LA for the Stand up to Cancer show. we have been invited to attend the show, thanks to my wonderful wife. I am going to visit all the Newspapers and TV stations here in Tarrant county and suggest, no convince them to run stories on the same day. The Push to September

200

Remember this number. This is how many children, our children, die each month in the United States from cancer.

What this number doesnt tell you is how many family members are affected. Moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, friends and communities... How many marriages are lost, how many people are devestated to the point of financial ruin or self-sabotage.

How many of these lost kids would have lent something great to our society if they would have become an… Continue

Ken,
My sister used to live at the air force base near Wichita Falls. We visited in July and I know how hot it can get. I am impressed that you did 100 miles in that heat. I loved the story of how you got your new bike and the wothy causes you are using it for. Life is a highway... enjoy the ride!

Hi Julian's Daddy,
are you going to RTD? If so would you like the petition signatures for your state to take with you, maybe part of your leave behind packets as there are many stories there? If so email AJ's Dad.

I would also love to be a Team Leader for Curesearch in Texas and represent the Austin/Central Texas area.
Thanks,

Hi Julian's dad - I saw that you are a team leader for Texas. I live in Austin, and my son is currently in maintenance chemo for a relapse of ALL. There will be a Childhood Cancer Awareness Fair here at Dell Children's on March 21st and I wanted to see if Curesearch could have a booth there to give out information - and I would love to be there to help and also get people there to sign the petition and join Curesearch and PACC. What do you think?
I'm also interested in being on the organizing committee for the Milestones walk here in Austin this year and possibly attending the conference in Amarillo re: prop 15.
Any info you may have for me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Julian's Daddy! We check in on your carepage often and love reading Mimi's posts. I didn't know you both were on PAC2 so I'm glad I found you! I surround your family in prayer daily! Remind Mimi to get the "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" book for me. Your boys will love it!
Hugs,
Jill

We're at the University Health Science Center in San Antonio in the Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute. Feel free to give me a call when you have a chance. My office # is 210-562-9062, and my cell is 801-232-8038. Best wishes, Charles

Hey there,

Looks like we must be on a similar journey as I am writing a book for moms of kids with cancer. I'd love to hear about your book, the progress you're making, etc. Clearly, there are not enough resources (books) out there to help parents travel this difficult path.

Keep the pen moving...
