I am the mom of Jessica and Matthew. Jessica (14) was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in November, 2003, at the age of 9 years. Matthew (12) is her shadow surviving little brother.
Dad (Jack) is a supporter of Make A Wish bikes 300 miles each summer raising money and awareness for this foundation. I have made multiple trips to Capitol Hill raising awareness and requesting funding for childhood cancer causes as Michigan Team Leader for CureSearch and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I also work at University of Michigan, CS Mott Children's Hospital, supporting families in crisis and spreading the culture of Patient and Family Centered Care.

good evening good friend...
thanks for letting me know about this--i hope with all of us sharing the stage--we will see in our lifetime an end to this horrible disease...
happy - and healthy new year for all
hugs...and i certainly miss seeing you
Thank you for all you are doing to help us fight the horrible childhood cancer. Our son Christian passed away nearly 9 months ago at the age of 14 after a brutal 20 month battle with a rare form of ALL. I have been to Capitol Hill 3 times so far and will go again. I was at CureSearch's Reach the Day in June '08 with my family. We were in the California group. Maybe you were there??
Thanks for joining PAC2.
Oh yes! They all know me. I know Sheila very well actually. I miss them all! I am going to apply for an internship for this summer coming up I think..depending on how my nursing classes go. yes, very small world!
I am applying to the nursing school at Grand Valley this March in hopes of starting the program in September! I actually just graduated from Michigan State University this August, and my nursing degree will be my second BS degree.
That's good to hear you work at Mott. i actually spent LAST summer as a child life volunteer/practicum student in the infusion clinic in the cancer center. Do you work alongside child life? I had applied for many child life internships for this past summer but did not receive one.
