My son, Dakota, was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney in May 1997. He endured radiation, chemo and the removal of the kidney. He's now a healthy 12 year old who loves baseball. Through this experience, I found a new career -- I left my position as a newspaper journalist to work with Gilda's Club Metro Detroit, a terrific nonprofit cancer community that provides emotional and social support for people impacted by cancer.

So glad to see you here. I am so glad to hear Dakota is doing well. I live near Seattle and tried to contact your office there to see if we could coordinate efforts with them but have not heard back. I would be interested in chatting with you more. Please contact me!
Laura, let me think on this, I dont want to stop initiative, yet I cant let everyone have their own group......I've got like 18 organizations right now......let me work on the software and see what I can do OK.........this is bothering me......
Your job you do now is just what I would love to do full time here locally. Maybe I need to check into something like that getting started here. So glad your son is doing so well. It is always encouraging to read about children that continue to do so well. It's good for the heart and soul, as well as spirit. God Bless
Hi Laura, Thanks for joining and for all of your support to our family. I know you must have thought I was a crazy, stalker like person when I 'found' you last June-:0), but I'm glad you were receptive to talking with me. We continue to pray for Dakota and your family and look at his story and life as an inspiration. I can't wait until, we too, can say it's been 11 years post treatment and all is well. Hugs from 'our team' to yours-Debb
