I am Angel Anjuli's mommy. She is my first child and for many years my only child. She was my light, my life. She was diagnosed at age 3 with an intrinsic brain stem glioma - a GBM IV. She fought hard, but there is no surviving this beast. She died at 4.5.
Anjuli was radiant child - full of life and love. People were drawn to her. She loved to hug and kiss and give people "extra kisses to put in their pockets for later." Her death has left a void in my heart and in her family that can never be filled.
I refuse to let Anjuli's agony and death be in vain. I have dedicated my life to fighting for a cure and have done so from soon after her passing. I created a memorial endowment in her memory for brainstem glioma research at Childrern's Hospital in Seattle. I created art kits for kids fighting cancer every month for about 5 years and delivered them by hand to the hem/onc ward at Children's. I created a national memorial for brain tumor victims by collecting hats of brain tumor angels from all over the country and I took them from WA to WDC and laid them in the Capitol to raise awareness of brain cancer. I have visited congress twice (2002 and 2005) to lobby for increased NIH funding for brain cancer and childhood cancer. I have raised money for Make-a-Wish and St. Baldrick's and other organizations. I have given speeches at various events to raise awareness.
I now live in Alaska and have been blessed with another daughter, Emily Grace, who was born almost exactly 6 years to the day that Anjuli died. But my mission continues and I will fight against this beast with every breath I have in me.Please visit for more info. I am blogging about the latest developments in childhood cancer research.

My daughter inspired a new program to find new cures for childhood brain cancer

My daughter, Anjuli Jacobs, died in 2001 of the most deadly cancer of all - brain stem cancer, otherwise known as a pontine glioma. We donated the tumor to researchers at Seattle Children's Hospital/the Fred Hutcheson Cancer Research Center/the UW Medical Center. It was the FIRST time a pontine glioma was ever donated. It inspired one of the world's most reknown researchers, Dr. James Olson, to turn to brand new ways to find cures and save lives! Read this -…

This blog is in memory of Anjuli Jacobs, my little one who was killed by a brain stem glioma. She was 4. My heart will never heal.

In my blog I write about some of the latest and most promising childhood cancer research news. Just click on the 4th tab. My entries are short and in English (not so much medical-speak). Check out Feb. 2013 where I wrote about the most promising brain stem glioma research ever!

I'm trying to get my Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell of WA…

Marcia.....if you are going to DC and need you know any pilots or anyone who travels a lot who could donate a flight or miles? My bro is a pilot and says so many pilots have trips they don't even use. He donated his Marriott miles for myhotel. Just a thought for you. Sounds like you would be a great voice for AK! So sorry for your loss......
