Our Story!

Posted on August 30, 2010 at 10:41am 0 Comments

Our son, Brandon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Memorial day of 2004. When the doctor first told us that our son had cancer, we cried like never before...our heart hurt. We went through about every emotion you could think of. We were totally paralyzed with grief and fear thinking our 4 year old son could die. The doctor said it was severe and we needed to get started right away with chemotherapy. After that, it seemed as everything was a blur and happened so fast. When your… Continue

Thank you for sharing this link! I look forward to helping out in whatever way I can. Also, do you happen to have a deliver date/time for the bear I faxed the info over about last week? I want to be able to be there if possible when he receives the bear!

Thank you for inviting me to join your group. My 11 year old son was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in April 2008. He began radiation and in July surgery was done to remove the bulk of the tumor. A week later we were told it was malignant. Three weeks later, after chemo and radiation was tried, we were told there was nothing else to be done and he would die. He died November 19, 2009. We miss him so much. This wasn't supposed to happen to him or us, that was what I kept telling myself. Even though I know he is in heaven right now, it doesn't make the pain hurt any less or make me miss him any less. No parent should ever have to bury their child.

Thanks. It will help me start each day to open my page and see the picture of the child wearing the blue do-rag. A wonderful drawing.

Your organization is an inspiration, just like Brandon himself. I have a special little friend named Kendall who has recently relapsed after more than two years in remission from JMML. He started a six-week chemo regimen last week, after which his doctors will decide what comes next. I can't wait to send his parents a link to your website. He was only two when he went through it before, and now at five he realizes so much more of what he's facing. I really believe he will love to have one of your chemo bears. Thanks for joining this site.
