I am not sure if you have any members in your geo group that live in Montana but if you do could you please ask them to call Representative Dennis Rehberg about the initiative posted on the front page to uge him to vote for funding for the Caroline Pryce Walker Conquer Childhood Cancer Act? Info is on the main page..... Thanks!
I am sure it will happen. All of the non-profits are really struggling to raise any money right now. Our numbers are really down from last year's walk but we will keep at it. You could hook up with other Colorado families on cp and cb sites so you are ready to go with your teams in the meantime. As I said before, Staci has a huge following and contacts locally in Denver. She is Kennedy's mom and is on PAC2 under the sarcoma group. Her caringbridge site is www.caringbridge.org/visit/kennedy1. She knows other kids being treated in Denver and other Colorado hospitals. We were one of the first ones to start the Milestone Walks with CureSearch. This is our fourth one. You could also be thinking of business contacts that you want to go after for sponsorship. Some companies have a matching program where if the employee raises say, $500. then they will match it. I would make a list of the businesses and find out who is in charge of charity giving. There are other tips on the CureSearch web site on getting started on the walk under handbook on the Milestone Walk site. You could start to organize your committee with people in each category like publicity, etc. all found in the handbook on the CureSearch site...
while you are waiting, too. Hope this helps.
I just posted on the front page but wanted to contact you here. My sister lives in Arvada and teaches elementary school in the Cherry Creek school district. My mom and brother live in Cheyenne where I went to high school. We usually get up to Estes Park every summer or so and have for probably 20 years. It is a favorite vacation spot. We love being in the mountains. When you do your walk make sure you contact Staci (Kennedy's mom) as she has a lot of Denver friends. I know that it is hard waiting to get a walk organized but I think that these walks take a lot of time to organize and manage. As I said, ours is in 6 weeks and it is a little nuts around here in Omaha with all of our teams scrambling for fundraising, but exciting, too. It is a great event and I know that Denver will be a good spot for one, too. It will happen.
Hello, my name is Curt McCormick, I am communications manager for CureSearch, apart from being a PAC2 member. We have a big promotion coming next Tuesday with ClaimJumper restaurants, and I was hoping you could help us promote it...
Could you possibly please post this news out to the PAC2 folks who live in Denver area. There is a Claim Jumper in Lone Tree, CO, just south of Denver. thanks so much,
