have to vent

Posted on November 15, 2008 at 3:28pm 9 Comments

Ok I have to vent as I am sure everyone will understand. I was searching the internet today looking for a new supplier for the gold ribbon charms that I use for the conquer kids cancer pendent and came across two sites promoting a Gold Ribbon for breast cancer awareness. URGH!!! They get enough attention without taking our color to. I nicely sent them an email informing them that Pink was for Breast Cancer and GOLD was for Childhood Cancer and could they please change it on their… Continue

Cancer Camp and Sibling Camp

Posted on October 29, 2008 at 9:58pm 1 Comment

Jakob looks forward to going to cancer camp every year with Camp Quality. However his brother Logan always feels left out and has at times said he wishes he could have cancer so he could go to camp too. Only if they knew what they were saying. A nurse resently told me about this camp that also does sibling camp. We are looking into how we can fit it into the budget to send Logan but thought anyone that lives close might like to know about it. Below is the link…

I was contacted by this company to place a link on my web site and thought everyone might find it useful.

DKMS Americas

We work to increase the number of donors on the registry so that every cancer patient has a fair shot of finding their perfect match. What makes us unique is that we do not charge donors for the $65 tissue typing test. We perform HLA- A*, B*, C*, DR* high-resolution typing on every registered donor minimizing the search time for finding the best possible donor… Continue

Even More Cancer Awareness Jewelry

Posted on October 29, 2008 at 9:48pm 3 Comments

Ok I think I have it all but one thing listed now. I made a Reach The Day bracelet and am waiting for Cure Search to send it back to me. Everyone who is a pac2 memeber gets 50% off just send me an email at staci@ (remove the spaces) with what you would like. Let me know if you have any ideas on new things to design. I am putting together some line sheets to send out to retailers.

I love the challenge from others ideas. If you have any special words I can do that to.… Continue

I've only seen one other child with his name spelled with a "k." Isn't that crazy that both of our Jakob's with a "k" both had ALL? By the way, the jewlery is beautiful!

Hi, Staci,

I just received the necklace today and wanted to tell you how much I love it! I put it on as soon as I got it.

I would like to order two of the Gold Ribbon of Hope necklaces. On the first, I would like the words "HERO" and "LANE" to appear on the back side. On the second, which I'm ordering as a present for another childhood cancer mom, the words "HOPE" and "HERO". Let me know if you need additional info. I'm so excited to get my necklace. It will be my Christmas present to myself!

I'm looking forward to meeting you sometime in the future. Are you planning on going to the CMH cancer center/Kaufman Foundation Christmas party for childhood cancer patients/survivors and families at Crown Center?

I finally got a chance to really check out all that's on your Beads of Hope web site. I want to place an order. I love, love, LOVE the Gold Ribbon of Hope necklace! What a wonderful and elegant way to raise awareness and always keep our hope for a cure close to our heart! I did want to know if I could change it slightly. Could the stamped words be on the back side of the pendant so the message is closer to the heart? I want to have two words stamped on it. I'm struggling to decide which two words to pick -- CURE, HOPE, LIFE, LANE, LIVE, PRAY -- which do you like best? I'm also thinking about getting a few others for some of my childhood cancer moms who have helped me with some awareness events for Alex's Lemonade Stand and/or CMH. Thanks so much for having the talent, inspiration and vision to make such powerful jewelry!
