I'm with AJs Dad on this one. We participated in Relay last year and when I was recently informed thatn you may hold over more from year to year than what your organization directed toward childhood cancer I must say that my family is reconsidering our efforts for 2009. Is there a way to earmark donations raised to a particular division of ACS? If we raise under the premise of honoring our child with cancer can we specify that is how we want our funds to be forwarded?
members are concerned about participating in the Relay for Life since a relatively low percentage of the funds raised is directed towards childhood cancer research. Is there a means to direct funds raised by teams/groups for ACS?
thanks for joining PAC2. We are a network of parents, friends, survivors, medical professionals, childhood cancer organizations and concerned citizens, all with the same goal - to help eradicate Childhood Cancer.
My first initiative was the Childhood Cancer Awareness Petition. The Petition has over 14,000 signatures and its objective it to have a major TV network produce a show solely on Childhood Cancer, thus raising awareness.
We also seek to become a clearinghouse for childhood cancer organizations, a "one stop shop" for anyone interested in learning more, participating in the fight, attending fundraising events, or simply sharing stories and friendships with other people who are fighting this terrible disease.
The format is unique. You can have friends, post photos and videos, blog, participate in Forum discussions, start Groups about your interest, chat live with other members, promote fundraisers or join a Group that will have other organizations listed focused on childhood cancer. It's interactive and will continue to evolve.
While all those features are nice, it still takes ACTION. This is truly the reason PAC2 started. Each day or so, I will feature some ideas for members in the top middle section called "Stuff to Do Today". This is where you pay your dues. This is where I call on each member to participate and act.
I look forward to your contributions and ideas, and the potential to work with ACS in the future. Thanks again for being here............AJs Dad
