My son LANE had JMML leukemia and has nf1 and jxg and a g tube .Lane has scoliosis and some back problems. He has cateracts in both eyes and some thyriod issues due to Total body radation.
Lane had a lot of chemo, radation, infections, etc. Please feel free to read my story on caringbridge on the link above.

I am a mom of 5 boys.

Lane has had 2 bone marrow transplants. He had a full spleenectomy @ 11 months old. The spleen likes to fill up with cancer cells so its best to remove it. His was huge. Lane is on pinicillion everyday every 12 hours since he does not have a spleen .

Lane was dx at 9 months old but we now know he was born with the cancer . His white count was 265,000 at dx. He was almost 100% cancer in his body by the time we found a dr who would listen to us that something was wrong with him. He had reddness, bruises only visable to a camera when we got our pictures back we could see them on pics and didn't understand it .
Lane had LEUKEMIA CUTIS on his skin and head. (cancer in the skin)
Lane had total body radation before transplant @ 13 months old.
Lane had autonimmune hemoglobic anemia He at one point required three blood transfussions a day and they were unable to find him blood one time for three days and had to have it flown into the hospital.
He had 45 blood transfussions and 60 platlet transfussions.
He had 5 central lines, elbow surgery and lots of time in the hospital.

Lane is 100% doner . His doner was a 44 year old male from Europe.
Lane had a desiminated fungal infection head to toe and was sent home to die with a zero% chance of survival 31 months ago. He went home in extreame pain and on morfine and oxogen and dnr. He fought the fungus and gvh and is still here and is now a big brother too!
He is my miracle .
He has pretty white fuzzy curly hair. Due to all the gvh and radation he had.

Please read more of his story and see pictures of him and his brothers on his caringbridge. Your welcome to view the journal and links too. I have helpful links and info posted throughout the journal.

Please sign the cancer awareness petition if you have not already joined the link is below and share these groups with your family and friends. One by one we can make a difference!

www.jmmlfoundation.org
to see other kids with jmml and learn info about JMML

JMML affects 3 kids in a MILLION
10% of JMML kids also have NF1 or nerofibromotosis
Lane has nf1 ( www.nf1.org ) and jxg which are often precursers to JMML.

I have started a group on here for JMML leukemia/nf1/g tubes/jxg etc. Please see the groups. Look for the butterfly! anyone can join!

On a side note, I wanted to send a warm thank you to Isaac’s mom whom I understand created the beautiful gold ribbon design that is now on display for Caringbridge websites. http://www.isaacsfoundation.org/
they have a pettition as well to sign to get the gold ribbon on food products etc. like they do for breast cancer.

Please check out www.snugglebunnyquilts.org . These wonderful people made Lane a buautiful quilt. I will post a pic when I get them developed!Tell them I sent you!

Michaelle,
I've been following Lane's caring bridge page for months. It was nice to find a familiar name here at PAC2. We also are a JMML family. My special friend's name is Kendall Springman, (Kendall S. on the JMML Foundation site). I just found your group here and immediately joined. Thanks for starting it.

Hey Michaelle!

It was a blessing talking to you the other night, thanks for calling! I have gotten all of your emails and I'm slowly reading them as I get a chance in between the farm work.

I will chat with you soon. Love, Linda

Thanks for finding me! I look forward to catching up & learning more about your miracle son & your journey with JMML & BMTs. Unfortunately it will have to wait until next week most likely...I'm closing on a new house tomorrow, and moving Thursday through the weekend. It's been an exciting week for me, I got married last Friday, and we're forming a new home & family. Life is nearly Perfect right now, and I can say I appreciate it more that most after the journey we've been on for nearly 4 years now.

Talk to you soon!

Hello:
Just wondering if you are coming to Omaha for our CureSearch Walk on June 6th. I don't know if you formed a team last year? If you go to www.curesearch.org then you can click on Milestones Walk and then Omaha. You can walk with an existing team (my family walks with the Candlelighter's Team from Children's Hospital) or you can form your own. It is $10. to register each walker but it all goes to CureSearch for our walk. You are welcome to join us. I think we have 34 teams signed up so far and about 210 walkers, but those numbers will go up. It is a great event. Hope to see you there.

Did I tell you that I once had a solo show at the Norfolk Art Center? It was great. Wonderful space and very nice people.
I have seen some good art shows there.

Michaelle,
Wow, you won't believe this, but we know China Grove. In fact,
there is an organization there called Godstock, Inc. John Bouk heads the organization. He raises funds for families who are struggling with bills because of their children's illnesses. When we were in NC all the money raised selling Amy's Hearts went to Godstock :-)

Your sister and family certainly has gotten around!! A lifetime of experiences!

Michaelle, where in NC does your sister live. We have a condo on Lake Norman, just north of Charlotte.
