A Grantee Stops By

As we continue our quest to find cures for all childhood cancers, we are constantly amazed by the dedication of the researchers who receive funding from Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Through our grants program, we see firsthand how passionate they are about improving the lives of children facing cancer, and we want to share this with all of our supporters, including…

Sam ( This is fiction ... Or is it???)

He grabbed his hand and said:" Come on Daddy , let's go for a walk!" . Daddy looked down at him , rubbed his little once bald head with his other hand and asked:" U ok buddy?" . Sam smiled, his blue eyes seemed sad :"Sure Dad, I just need to talk."

It was the fall, Sam's favorite time of the year. He loved walking in the woods…

Rotationplasty….a 180° Difference

I told myself after Sean’s osteosarcoma diagnosis, after Sean’s rotationplasty surgery, after chemo was over, after life got back to normal….ok, life will never be normal again…that I needed to help others. Other cancer parents were there for us in…

There are so many exciting things happening at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation as part of our 10th Anniversary Year – and we want to involve all of you as much as possible. As we went through our initial planning stages for the year ahead, we thought why not give our supporters the opportunity to design our 2010 commemorative t-shirt?!

CureSearch Team Leader Meeting - Jan 2010

PAC2 People,

A few weeks ago CureSearch held its annual State Team Leader Meeting in Washington, DC. As a representative from Florida I was able to attend along with 42 other state team leaders. It’s a long day of running around Capitol Hill from building to building, office to office. The meeting is similar to CureSearch’s June event, “Reach The Day”, but on a much smaller scale. The main focus of the event is to allow CureSearch advocates some time in the offices of their respective… Continue

Introducing the Hero Ambassador Program

As you probably know by now, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is dedicated to finding better treatments and ultimately cures for all childhood cancers. To reach that goal, we know that we not only need to raise lots of money but we also need to increase understanding of what childhood cancer is, what it means for families fighting the disease, and just how many children and families it affects.

Although at times it is very difficult, Jay and I feel very lucky as parents to…

504 Plans Can Help Childhood Cancer Survivors In Schools

Two years ago I started discussions with a counselor about high school physical education requirements at our son's school. I was told that in his junior year, he would need to take PE classes.... Fast forward to last week, when his advisor told me that "he needs to choose three PE classes to graduate because he will be a junior next year".... Thats it. Our son is on crutches still, due to bone cancer and an implant in his leg. All of his teachers know this, including this advisor. So, I had…

What is causing the cancer epidemic?

I know that question seems redundant but I can't help but ask it. I have a few hypothesis'. How about you? Any you care to share? I want a cure as much as everyone. But I also yearn for answers too about cause, the trigger. What causes the cancer death of a beautiful 4 year old girl or boy?
