Still trying to wrap your head around one million miles? You're not alone, so we figured we would take this opportunity to do a little Million Mile Run myth-busting:
Million Mile Myth #1: I need to complete 100 miles in September, by myself. No way. You can certainly participate as an individual with a goal to complete 100 miles by yourself, but you can also form a team of any size and collectively complete 100 miles. Just think, if you formed a team of 4 people and you each walked a mile during your lunch break, you would log 100 miles in no time!View more ideas on ways to get to 100 miles.
Million Mile Myth #4: I need to register by September 1 You can register at anytime between now and the end of September. Most people are registering prior to September 1 to utilize all 30 days of the month, but you can register and log your miles at any point throughout September.
Million Mile Myth #5: It's a requirement to fundraise. We're encouraging participants to fundraise, but it is certainly not mandatory. One of our main goals is to raise awareness and elevate the visibility of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so we're thrilled to have you log your miles and help spread the word. That being said, check out an example of how easy it is to fundraise!
Alex set a goal to raise $1 million through her lemonade stand, which sounded ambitious at the time, and she surpassed it before passing away at the age of 8. We can do this.
